Fans of the Boler trailer, calling themselves Alberta Omelette, gathered in Rosebud’s High Eagle R.V. Resort Sept. 18-20.
Nearly forty Boler trailers – made of fibreglass and shaped like eggs – came from all over southern Alberta and as far away as east-end Saskatchewan, near the Manitoba border.
“(Boler campers are) easy to fix up inside, they’re very light to tow and the people just love them,” said Ed Sonmor, owner of the High Eagle. “The interiors are done just out-of -this-world. They’re really glammed up.”
One couple who came this weekend didn’t even want a place to plug in, he said, because they’d fitted their trailer to run on solar power.
In the evenings, the Alberta Omelette campers, ranging from young families to people in their 70’s and 80’s, gathered around a campfire, enjoying music by fellow campers. On Saturday night, they shared a potluck dinner-on-a-stick, cooked over a fire pit.
The High Eagle hosts special interest groups throughout the year, Sonmor said. Find out more at www.higheaglervpark.com.
