SMITH, Edwin Ronald

April 5, 1954 – August 30, 2014

 

It is with deep sadness that the family of Ed Smith announces his passing at the Strathmore Hospital on the morning of August 30, 2014 at the age of 60 years.  He is survived and will be lovingly remembered by his brother Doug (Sandy) and sisters Barb (Larry) and Evelyn; numerous nieces, nephews, cousin Donna, and friends.  Ed lived his life in Strathmore and worked as a heavy duty mechanic and shop foreman for the County of Wheatland for 33 years.  He was also a long time and valued member of the Strathmore Legion.  Ed was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Doreen, brothers Harvey and Marvin and sisters Carol and Brenda.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Strathmore United Church at 1:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to Strathmore Royal Canadian Legion #10 (Box 2141, Strathmore, AB, T1P 1K1).  To send condolences, please visit Ed’s obituary at www.wheatlandfuneralhome.ca.
