Artists from all over the county and Strathmore have generously donated pieces to Hope Bridges art auction fundraiser that takes place Saturday, May 10 at the Strathmore Golf.
Many of them will be attending to show their support for the programming of arts in the community. They include: Ed Anderson, Katrina Reinwald, Joe van Keulen, Royal Sproule, Lynn Day, Gwen Tellier and Joe Bratton.
Various mediums of art including photography, charcoal, acrylic, mixed media, Up-cycling and more will be on display.
Some businesses and individuals have thrown their support behind Hope Bridges fundraising event by also donating items, including: Kim’s Catering, Rosebud Theatre, JB Music Therapy, and Connie Kopp. Items will range from $40-$400, which leaves something to bid for everyone’s price range.
While the initial fundraising goal is to raise $10,000, the hope is increase and raise awareness of the arts and to provide insights into the different mediums that art comes in.
This includes sharing information on each piece, like the cost of supplies, how it was made, the time it took and the inspiration behind the piece. Hope Bridges Coordinator Wanda Reinholdt says “we welcome and encourage conversation about the art with us and those artists in attendance.”
The schedule for the evening’s festivities includes a silent auction leading to the live auction of the three-featured pieces between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
