Getting in shape with In Form Fitness

A new type of workout facility has come to Strathmore.
In Form Fitness studio officially opened its doors May 15.
It is a private and small-group training studio that uses the Total Gym GTS bodyweight incline resistance machine and the Gravity Training System. Dani Knowles owns the studio and has 16 years’ experience in the fitness industry, working in England, Australia and Canada.
She has been offering mobile, personal training sessions in town for over three years and had been searching for something that would work for everyone regardless of age, fitness level or past injuries.
“I kept looking for something that could get my clients to increase their mobility and feel like they could get a full body workout again regardless of the knee, or the back, or the neck or the shoulder. Now I have five of these amazing machines to offer my clients,” said Knowles.
She has found that most people feel limited long after an injury has occurred and weight gain is common because people want to avoid further injury or quite simply don’t know what activities are safe for them. Her hope is to get people out, trying Gravity Training on the Total Gym GTS and to know that they can work through anything and get fit and strong again.
“I can select the appropriate percentage of their body weight for clients to use as resistance and adjust to be more or less challenging immediately. As with any exercise based on individual strength, mobility and awareness,” said Knowles.
Knowles is offering private and small group training in a comfortable setting with an ‘Introduction to Gravity’ six week course offered in the mornings, as well as some lunchtime sessions and time slots available for private and small group bookings. She is planning to bring reformer Pilates into the studio in September.
“My motto is Motivation, Accountability and Results because that is really what everybody wants and needs.”
The GTS is her dream machine as a personal trainer because ‘it can be used by anyone regardless of very high or low fitness levels in a safe and natural range of motion. You have to engage your core muscles to keep in form so there is no cheating.’ Perhaps that is where the results come from.
