The Strathmore Lions are once again selling tickets for their annual Christmas dinner. The dinner, which is open to everyone in the community, is being held on Dec. 13 at the Civic Centre. Tickets are selling for $50 per person.
“If someone wants to buy a table of eight they get it for the price of seven,” said Trudy Grigg, who is helping with the planning of the dinner.
Sentimental Journey, an 18-piece band, will be performing for the evening.
“We wanted to make it bigger and better by having big bands in and we had a big band in last year and it was very well received. This band is different but supposed to be very, very good so we’re looking forward to listening to them,” said Grigg.
The Lions have been hosting a Christmas celebration and dinner for a number of years; they took it over when the Aquatic Society disbanded.
“It is a type of fundraiser, but is also a project where our members can give back to the community by providing a nice dinner, good entertainment, an opportunity for small companies to book a Christmas party that doesn’t cost and arm and a leg, in our area so they don’t have to drive to Calgary and back,” said Grigg.
Tickets can be purchased by contacting a Lions member or by going to PJs Appliances or Pro Water Conditioning. Tickets will only be on sale until Dec. 9.
