BROWN, William (Bill)

BROWN, William (Bill)
It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved husband, Bill, on October 30, 2014. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Linda, of thirty-seven years; daughter Robyn (Dale) Barnett; son Cameron and friend Lana; daughter Kerry and her friend Gerry; five grandchildren, Tate, Cohen, Makaela, and Reeve Barnett and Hayden Brown; sisters Michael and Leah; brothers Roger and Peter; and sisters-in-law Jackie (Dan) McDonald, Shirley (Veston) Granberg, Marlene (John) Scott, and Val (Todd) Valkenburg. Bills greatest joy in life was being surrounded by family, especially his grandchildren. Bill was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on November 5, 1952. He graduated from Brentwood College in 1970 and Lethbridge Community College with a diploma in business and computer programming with majors and minors in accounting and marketing. Bill spent time in the radio industry as an announcer, in sales, management, and as the CEO and President of Southern Alberta Broadcasting. He had also owned a racing stable, trucking company, and curbing company. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold Brown of Lethbridge in October, 1974 and Delores Brown, also of Lethbridge, in October 2006. Bills other passion in life was cooking for family and friends. Bill and Linda looked forward to spending their winters in Huatulco, Mexico where he also leaves behind many friends. Bills family is extremely grateful to the nurses and doctors in the ICU at the Foothills Hospital for the excellent care given to him. Bill passed away due to a ruptured aorta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance (Box 570 1441 Aviation Park N.E., Calgary, T2E 8M7) A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Strathmore Royal Canadian Legion Hall from 1:00-3:00 p.m. To send condolences, please visit Bill’s obituary at www.wheatlandfuneralhome.ca
You are the wind beneath my wings,
couldn’t have done it without you babe.
