The Orica Canada’s Carseland Facility has hit a milestone this year. For the past 20 years there has not been a lost-time incident, a milestone which reflects Orica’s focus on building awareness and maintaining diligence around safe practices and behaviours.
“This achievement is a direct reflection of the commitment and ownership of our site personnel,” said Patrick Jeanson, general manager at Carseland in a press release.
“It’s because of their dedication to maintaining a safe workplace and looking after each other that we’ve had zero lost-time incidents over the last two decades, and we will continue to work hard to maintain this level of safety performance for years to come.”
Orica’s approach to safety is strongly guided by the company’s vision and values of ‘No accidents today, succeed through collaborations, find valuable solutions and it’s our business.’
“Creating and maintaining a safe work environment is a core value at Orica,” said Jeanson.
“In order to be successful, safety has to be paramount and a shared approach from all of our employees and contractors. The Carseland team is proving that reaching a goal of zero lost-time incidents is not only possible, but sustainable in a strong embedded safety culture.”
Orica believes that responsible corporate practices help enhance the company’s performance, while also benefitting customers, the environment and surrounding communities.
