The Hussar Novice Knights hockey team this year consists of sixteen players in the rural Tier 4 category.
Fifty per cent of the team consists of players from Hussar and the other 50 per cent are Bassano players. This is the second year the two have teamed up for this age category and it is a great mix of kids. The kids are enjoying playing together and making new friendships throughout the season with their neighboring community.
The Tier 4 combined team have had 5 wins and 6 losses and have tied 2 games so far this season.
They practice hard every Wednesday for an hour and a half, alternating between Hussar and Bassano so it is equal driving for everyone involved.
The team plays against the other 10 teams in the Tier 4 category including Chestermere, Strathmore, Cremona, Claresholm, Fort MacLeod, Brooks, Duchess, Oyen, Siksika and Nanton.
The parents are a dedicated bunch. So are their coaches : Kevin Slemko, Rob Miller, Floyd Barron, wayne Papp and Brett Filkohazy.
The kids and parents look forward to many years of hockey ahead and just having fun on the ice.
