Ladies, ever wondered how to correctly put on false lashes, or maybe you have been considering a makeover but aren’t sure how exactly to do it? Over the next two months Shoppers Drug Mart will be offering different events to help you figure out what’s right for you.
First up on April 2 there will be a Lash Lab in the makeup boutique from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
There will be a 101 on how to properly apply eyelashes, how to pick out the best ones for your eyes, how to remove them, and demonstrations. The ladies at the Shoppers Drug Mart Boutique will apply lashes for a fee, but this way the women can come in and learn how to do it at home.
On April 4 there will be Benefit boot camp from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
“So we have a beauty expert from the makeup line Benefit coming out and she’s doing kind of like little master class, teaching how to use all the products,” said Allyson Swan, beauty boutique manager.
Swan said Benefit has a ton of niche products that when used incorrectly could look bad, so the beauty expert will be teaching tips and tricks, and how to pick out things for your skin type and shade.
There is a $10 cost that includes the class, a goodie bag, and an entry into a $350 Benefit gift basket draw. Any Benefit product purchases that night will be $10 off and there will be snacks and goodies.
“They’re kind of fun, especially for women who aren’t 100 per cent sure how to do things, or maybe are a little bit scared of makeup. It’s a good way to come and sort of learn the basics,” said Swan.
“On May 4 we’re doing a pink event which, we’re raising money for the Look Good, Feel Better Foundation which supports women who are dealing with the effects of cancer. This is an annual event that we do…we’re selling pink ribbons, and other sort of pink ribbon items like bookmarks and necklaces.”
May 23 marks the annual Spring Gala at the store. Guest makeup artists from all of the makeup lines come in to showcase some of their products while offering makeovers. It’s $10 a ticket and this year it will be a Carnival theme.
“It’s a lot of fun, just kind of like a ladies night out. M&M (Meat Shops) actually caters it, so we have food from them. It’s a lot of fun,” said Swan.
There will be nails painting, a spiritual reader, face painting, body art and more.
“We always have events going on in here all the time, so there’s always something for somebody,” said Swan.
