After Country Escape Spa & Wellness closed down last year, former employee Amy Giordani kept her eyes and ears open for a space in town to run her own business while doing mobile massages. On Dec. 2 her venture, Pure Natural Health Company, opened at 124 3rd Ave.
“Everything just was falling into place,” Giordani said. “We’re booking into January.”
Pure Natural Health Company is currently taking clients on an appointment-only basis, for their offerings of deep tissue, hot stone, lymphatic draining and Swedish massages.
“(Appointment only) is just for the time being. Everybody is really excited to be taking appointments and working from somewhere in Strathmore,” Giordani said. “I teach infant massage classes as well for parents to learn how to massage their children – I specialize in the newborns. Parents can hands-on with their babies and make them more comfortable. It helps with growing pains.”
Giordani will be joined by another massage therapist and a naturopath from Drumheller.
“Some clients we’ve lost over the years, they’re not too keen on the mobile massage. They kind of like their boundaries, they don’t want you to come into their home,” Giordani said. “So we’ve had an influx of clients since we’ve said we’ll be stationary again and working out of a place.”
