MILES, Genevieve “Jean” (nee Ludwig)

 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother at the age of 75 years after a difficult battle with ALS.  Jean was born on April 25, 1938 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, the second youngest of 13, and passed away peacefully on May 28, 2013 at Strathmore Hospital.  She is survived by her four children and five grandchildren Russ (Penny) Miles their children Marlee and Travis of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Karen (Bob) Dahl their children Ashley and Jordan of Calgary, Alberta; Steve Miles of Sicamous, BC; and Dan (Myrna) Miles and their son Evan of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.  Jean is also survived by her sisters Mary Kratzer of California, Hilda Reynolds of Manitoba, Frances Kahl of California, Dolores (Fred) Navarro of California, Christina (Mickey) Krock of Lethbridge, Alberta, and Joan Janner (Ed) of Chilliwack, BC; brother-in law Dale Niedermoser; and many nieces and nephews.  A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013 at Wheatland Funeral Chapel, Strathmore at 1:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made directly to the ALS Society of Alberta (Suite 250, 4723 1st Street SW, Calgary, AB T2G 4Y8).
