Members needed

Members are wanted for the new Downtown Design Review committee. Forming a committee is the next step, now that the Downtown Overlay District Bylaw was approved in September.

The idea behind the committee is to review applications and provide recommendations made by the Approving Authority and council. Some of the things the committee will make recommendations on include exterior building material and design features, mix of land uses, public art, streetscaping including furniture, parking reductions and pedestrian access points. Members of the committee must be appointed by council. The committee is to have two council members, three Town of Strathmore administrative staff, a member from the Strathmore Regional Arts Collective and three members of the public. Those interested in being on the committee can contact the town for more information.

 

Open House

The Town of Strathmore is holding their annual Christmas Open House this Friday, Dec. 6. The event takes place in the council chambers from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. This is a great chance to meet and socialize with the mayor, council and administration.
