The Strathmore Municipal Library is always looking for ways to get patrons excited and involved in the library, which is why the ‘Make it Yours,’ poster contest was created.
“Back in 2012 the Alberta Library created a program that was called the ‘Make it Yours’ campaign. It was all about what do you love about your library and we thought what’s a way that we can use this ‘Make it Yours’ campaign and our Facebook group and turn it into a really great contest,” said Assistant Director of Library Services at the Strathmore Municipal Library Carmen Erison.
The way the contest works is people need to visit the ‘Make it Yours’ website which can be found at www.youralbertalibrary.com and you create a ‘Make it Yours’ poster.
“It’s a really fun, creative poster where you can really hone in on what you love about the library. You can name what your favourite book is, what your favourite programs are, your favourite movie, and the poster says for example Carmen’s Library,” said Erison.
From the website participants are asked to download their posters and save it into a JPEG. Then find and like the Strathmore Municipal Library Facebook group and post it onto there. That’s all that is needed to enter the contest.
“This is a great way for our community to really get involved in our library and really express to us what they love about the library,” said Erison.
The grand prize is a Kobo Mini and a protective sleeve, which is approximately a $75 value. The contest closes on March 31.
