Christmas in Strathmore

As Strathmore digs itself out from a brutal winter storm, plans for Christmas continue. The schools are in full swing practicing for their Christmas concerts, local organizations are planning Christmas celebrations and families are busy decorating their homes.
Holy Cross Collegiate
Christmas Fine Arts Night. The junior high and high school students will be participating in an evening of entertainment.
Show Times – Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m.
Strathmore High School
Winter Concert. SHS will showcase their students talents in association with the LEO Club dinner. The high school band, Jazz band, choir, Glee Club and drama will be performing.

Westmount Elementary School
“The Spirit of Christmas”. Kindergarten to Grade 4 students will perform in this years Christmas concert, due to the size of the school they have decided to include the younger grades in the Christmas concert this year and Grade 5 and 6 students will be performing in their April drama presentation.

Sacred Heart Academy
“The Christmas Lamb”. Grades 4- 6 will be performing in this musical story.
Show Time – Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m.
“Miracle on Bethlehem Street”. Grades k-3 will be performing in this musical tour of the seven continents of the world.
Show Time – Thursday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m.
Hope Community Covenant Church
“Jingle All the Way” The performance will be put on by the Strathmore Children’s Choir. Tickets are available at the door for $3/person or $5/family

Strathmore Alliance Church
Strathmore Interfaith Choir and Orchestra will be performing in a Christmas Musical at the Strathmore Alliance Church.
Show Times – Dec. 13, 14 at 8 p.m. and Dec. 15 at 3 p.m.
Trinity Lutheran Christian Academy
TCA will be holding their Christmas concert in the school’s gym.
Show Times – Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m.
Brentwood Elementary School
“The Mystery of Simon Shepard” All grades will be participating in this musical, dramatic presentation.
Show Times – Thursday, Dec. 19 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Wheatland Elementary School
“It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas”.
This year each grade will be performing a variety of talents such as singing, drum fit, puppets and guitars, just to name a few. As always the school council will be set up before the performances to sell some tasty Christmas treats.

Crowther Memorial Junior High School
Winter Concert. CMJHS will be holding their annual winter concert in the gym at the Junior High. Grade 7,8,9 bands will be performing as well as the Junior Choir.
The date is to be announced as the original show was cancelled due to the storm.
