A little bit of Vegas style is coming to Carseland on Nov. 16 with the Viva Las Carseland Ladies night. The night begins when the doors open at 7 p.m. There will be slot machines and four to five fun games with prizes to be won. There will be a raffle, door prizes, and a grand prize that is a mystery trip raffle worth $1,000.
“We are also getting some of those slushy machines so the girls can either have a slushy drink, alcoholic or non-alcoholic, we have both. We also have drivers if anybody needs a driver. We will have a driver who will drive their vehicle home as well as drive them home,” said organizer Rhonda Cleveland.
Elvis will also be in the building, selling 50/50 tickets and chatting up the ladies.
The Carseland PB Club has held casinos in the past and typically would alternate years with Indus. A ladies night also used to be a somewhat regular occurrence but fell to the wayside. Quite a few women in the community missed having one, and so it was decided to bring ladies night back for the Carseland Ladies.
“It’s nice for ladies to get together and have a nice visit and to support the kids in our community, and it will be a lot of fun. It’s not very often that moms and ladies just get to have fun,” said Cleveland laughing.
“The funds will be going to the Carseland Kids Coalition and we are supporting the school, we donate to the school and to the scouts and any kids thing in Carseland,” said Cleveland.
The community has also just begun working on bringing in a water park and some of the funds will be donated to that as well.
To date approximately 60 per cent of the 300 tickets have been sold. Tickets can be purchased for $30 at the ATB bank in Carseland, or at the door on the night of the event.
