This summer Strathmore has seen its’ fair share of crime. From the robbery of Home Hardware, UFA, and Strathmore Building Supplies in July to some recent break and enters this August.
The neighborhood of Ranch Estates has been a main target of these break and enters, the thief stealing cash from homes with people sleeping peacefully inside. Several restaurants in town have also allegedly had similar problems, with people sneaking in, or breaking in, and stealing cash. This was the case at The Roadhouse, where the thief hid in the restaurant until closing.
“It looks like they stayed in the washroom until closing and then conducted the theft and then left,” said Cpl. Mark Harrison of the Strathmore RCMP. What had been stolen could not be disclosed. It is important for all residents to take precautions to ensure their safety and the safety of their belongings for the rest of the summer, and throughout the year.
