New dentist opens up shop in Strathmore

Providing patient comfort is almost as important to Dr. Ash as providing quality dental care. Dr. Ash is opening up shop here in Strathmore next to the Dollarama in the Ranch Market. 

“I’m really keen and an avid believer in providing high quality evidence-based dentistry to patients, and my philosophy is that our care should be health-centered and patient-based,” said Dr. Ash.

“I like to know each patient in person, and really know their needs and be able to take care of their needs in a really relaxed, warm environment with lots of smiles.”

Taking away the stress of dealing with insurance companies is another thing Ranch Market Dental offers to its patients. 

“We deal with the insurance companies ourselves, you don’t need to have that headache.”

Everything is state of the art and up to code with Alberta’s guidelines. Dr. Ash said everything is digital, and so for patients having digital x-rays, there is very low radiation. The dental chairs are Adec chairs, which he said are comfortable, and patients who may need to be in the chair for a few hours, shouldn’t experience any back pain or discomfort. 

“We can offer sedation as well, so I offer a combination of laughing gas and oral sedation,” said Dr. Ash.

“With oral sedation we just give you some pills to take, and these pills actually make you really relaxed. What they do is you can go through with the appointment without having any anxiety and they have some effects that make you forget your experience so you don’t have any bad experience or anything in your memories.”

He said if you are anxious then you can opt for sedation, but if you aren’t then you can just have a regular visit. There will also be chair-side computers and intra-oral cameras, and there will be pictures taken of everything being done and shown to the patient. 

“It’s a good educative tool that you can see really what’s going on and be aware of the things we are doing,” said Dr. Ash. 

Another perk to seeing Dr. Ash is that he is offering a free bleaching to his patients who book an appointment before May 1. 

“Every patient gets free bleaching before May 1. We have two different options. If you like we can do it chair-side here. If you do it chair-side it takes half an hour to an hour and usually two appointments. You get actually instant results,” said Dr. Ash.

“Or we can actually make some bleaching trays for you and you can take it home, and it takes usually 30 days to see the results with home bleaching.”

Dr. Ash has two Doctor of Dental Surgery Degrees. He spent six years training at the Melli University, and two years of training at Dalhousie University. He is also a member of the Canadian and Alberta dental associations and is a former member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. He is continuously upgrading to keep himself aware and educated on the latest trends and information.

“I take a lot of continuing education courses every year to keep myself up to date, in different subjects like gum disease treatment and prosthodontics, sedation courses, implant courses, I always try to keep myself up to date,” said Dr. Ash.

Ranch Market Dental will host its grand opening on March 16 at 10 a.m. Dr. Ash said he will also begin booking appointments on the 16th.
