Fire and Ice Gala held in Cheadle

The Calgary Dance Express held their Spring Spectacular “Fire and Ice” gala at the Cheadle Hall on March 3.

The Calgary Dance Express (CDE) is a non-profit performance troupe, founded in 1986, that entertains nationally, internationally and right here at home in the Calgary area. The members are aged 5 and up and there are currently 26 performers on the team. CDE’s mission is to provide an opportunity for children and young adults to perform locally and around the world, showcasing their talents and exposing them to new cultures and opportunities to work with a variety of people in the performing arts.

The Calgary Dance Express 2012 Performance Team includes the following young people from in and around Strathmore: Mercedez Allen, Makayla Cody, Hayley Dunbar, Paige Gilmour, Lane Habing, Alexandra Keeling, Emmeline Keeling, Megan Leeper, Hayley Messier, Jill Proudfoot, Jon Proudfoot, Zack Proudfoot, Teagan Rabbit Carrier, Erin Renkas, Katrina Roes, Caley Ryan, Aquinnah Snider, Cheyanne Snider, Dakota Snider, Brittney Standing, James Standing, Shalynne Standing, Alexandra Stewart, Breanna Stewart, Sydni Sundgaard, Desirae Thomas. The leadership team includes The Calgary Dance Express Artistic Team: Artistic Director-Heather Thomas, Assistant Artistic Director – Stephen Welch, Contributing Choreographers for the 2012 Fire and Ice Gala: Heather Thomas, Stephen Welch, Brittney Anderson, Joey Matt, and Robin Szuch.
