On July 16, Home Hardware, Strathmore Building Supplies and UFA were involved in a large-scale lumber and building supplies theft. Details of the case are now confirmed.
“It started as a complaint of a B and E at Strathmore Building Supplies,” said Cpl. Mark Harrison of the Strathmore RCMP, “an undisclosed amount of lumber was stolen from there.”
Then the vehicle proceeded to the UFA, with the forklift that the police later determined was stolen from Home Hardware. The perpetrators used the stolen forklift to aid them in their theft of the lumber and building supplies.
“Basically they went to home hardware, stole the fork lift, drove down to Strathmore Building Supplies broke [through] a locked gate, loaded a truck and flatbed, then went over to UFA and stole another bunch of building supplies,” said Harrison. “We [have] two male suspects that are seen on video and the investigation is ongoing at this time.”
