Buying bras for a good cause

Breast cancer research has come a long way, but until there is a cure there will always be a need for funds and support. This is the second year Western Financial Group will be filling their office with ‘bras’ to raise money for the Breast Cancer Supportive Care Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to enable breast cancer patients to thrive from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.
“Another office had done it three years ago and passed the torch to us. I really like doing charity work. I thought it was a worthwhile one and a good one for our office to be able to do because really you just sell the paper bras outside of your office, so I like to hit up our current clients that come in and sell it to them,” said Kerilyn Grove with Strathmore Western Financial Group.
The bras sell for a minimum donation of $2 up to whatever someone is willing to give. They are available at the Western Financial Group office in the Ranch Market.
Grove said she would like to see $1,000 raised but that it is high since at $2 a bra it would mean selling quite a few of them. For anyone who would wish to purchase one, but is unable to make it to the office, Grove is willing to come to you.
The ‘Bras for a Cause’ fundraiser runs from Oct. 1 to 31. Anyone looking for more information can contact Kerilyn Grove at 403-934-5444.
