Carseland Fire Department and Association approached council with a request for funding on an extension to the Carseland fire hall.
The extension would be 20 ft by 34 ft and cost a total of $21,000.
They are proposing the County split the bill with them 60/40. Carseland would utilize Casino funds to pay their share. The Fire Capital Fund Committee supported the proposal.
Council members discussed whether there were other areas where the funding should be applied. They deferred a decision until more financial information is available.
“If you defer the funding, they can still come and get a development permit, so the project can move ahead,” said CAO Jennifer Deak.
Carseland asked the County to waive the $100 building permit. Council approved the building permit waiver but deferred a waiver on the development permit pending more information.
