ALS society and Rosebud team up for Tuesdays with Morrie matinee

‘Tuesdays with Morrie’ tells the true story of the friendship that blossomed between Morrie Schwartz and his former student Mitch Albom. Schwartz had been diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS). Once Albom hears the news he intends to visit his beloved college professor and say goodbye. What he didn’t realize is Schwartz’s disease will pull the two men close together in a way that Albom will never forget. 
The story became a best selling book, and is currently being shown on the Rosebud Theatre stage. On Oct. 20 Rosebud Theatre is partnering with the ALS Society of Alberta to raise money as well as awareness about the fatal disease. 
“We’re delighted to partner with the ALS Society of Alberta to help promote awareness of the excellent services and support they provide for those living with this disease,” says Adam Furfaro, Executive Director of Rosebud Centre of the Arts in a press release. 
“We are hopeful that Morrie’s story can bring some comfort and joy to those whose lives have been affected by ALS, including friends and family supporting a loved one. 
“The show’s powerful yet simple message resonated deeply with audiences on opening weekend. Many patrons remarked that the number of laughs equaled the number of tears. Gather up your loved ones and come see this show together.”
For every ticket booked with a special code for the matinee performance Rosebud Centre of the Arts will donate $5 to the ALS Society of Alberta. Supporters of the ALS Society of Alberta are asked to contact 403-228-3857 for the special promotion code and pricing of $64.58 Adult, $58.28 Senior, $32.29 Child (all prices include GST). Show ticket includes a buffet lunch at the Rosebud Mercantile at 11:00 am with the performance to follow at 1:30 pm in the Opera House. Rosebud Theatre is about an hour’s drive northeast of Calgary, nestled in the picturesque hamlet of Rosebud, Alberta.
