Zombies take over Calgary

On October 15 zombies took over Stephen Ave. in downtown Calgary, and Strathmore resident James Bos was one of them. This was the sixth annual zombie walk, though it was the first time Bos had participated.
“What a great time, over a 100 people showed up, and some great costumes. It was everything I wanted to do and more,” said Bos.
“The best part of the zombie walk was the making of friends that share the same love for this genre,” said Bos.
“It’s something about the simplicity of the living dead that you can scare people with what you look like and walk and act, that is why I think it’s making a comeback and becoming more and more popular. Anyone can do it, from 10-years-old to 90, all you need is a little blood around the mouth and bang you are the living dead.”
Bos’ favourite horror movie producer is George A. Romero who created ‘Night of the Living Dead.’
“I enjoy a great classic horror and some of the newer horror. I love both the graphic novels and the T.V. show The Walking Dead, and Max Brook’s Zombie Survival Guide, World War Z, great reading.
Again the zombie genre is just one of the simplest yet scarier (types of) horror out there. It is us, it is the way humans are in the simplest forms, that’s why I and others love it.”
Bos has also been participating the filming of the Dead Mile, which tells the story of a zombie outbreak on Calgary streets, and is written, produced and directed by Calgarian K.J. Kleefeld.
