The senior football team finished their regular season in Calgary on Oct. 21. The final score was 28-0, but that does not represent how well the team played, only allowing one touchdown in the second half. The defense made some adjustments and came out strong in the second half.
During the season, the Spartans made some significant improvements, from the strength of the whole defense, to the speed and skill of the offence.
The senior Spartan team will be going into the playoffs with an official record of 1-2. (they had four exhibition games giving them an unofficial record of 2-5) Most of the team will have at least one more game in the playoffs against the Cochrane Lions.
The Spartans will definitely be up against a strong team, but if they are able to play well, the game should be very close. This will be a very tough game, but as this writer has witnessed, the team is very capable of pulling off a win.
