The Strathmore senior Spartans played their last game Saturday afternoon against the Cochrane Cobras. The team gave it all they had but unfortunately it wasn’t enough, as they lost the game 49-0.
The Cobras got off to a very fast start, stunning the Spartans. All 49 points the Cobras scored were in the first half of the game. Strathmore’s defense played incredibly well in the second half shutting out the Cobras. Even the offense (that was missing two of their starters) was able to get the ball moving against one of the best defenses they have faced all year, but they couldn’t put up any points. This was the last game for a few of the players on the team and you could see just how much they cared about their teammates. They played their hearts out and it definitely showed.
