RFP’s being sent out for Carseland sewage lagoon

A Request For Proposal, RFP, will be sent out regarding having a study done on the Carseland Sewage Lagoon. The study could potentially take up to two years and will be quite extensive, and expensive. The County is working towards having the study done so it can be shown to Alberta Environment, to allow the release of the water into the Bow River. The county is working under a five-year timeline to complete the study and build a plant if need be. 

 

HVAC upgrades

The county offices will be upgrading their HVAC, heating, ventilation and air conditioning system by adding a remote log-in diagnostics unit. By adding the unit, technicians will rarely have to drive out to fix a problem, and instead will be able to do it from their laptop at the office. Service calls in the past have cost the county approximately $200 per call. The cost of putting in the unit is $4,080 with the funds coming out of the contingency fund. 

 

Leaky roof soon to be fixed

Work will begin soon on repairing the roof at the county offices. Scott Builders had assessed the damage and had presented five different options to council. Due to all of the different slopes on parts of the roof, it was decided the best way to deal with the repairs is in an area specific manner. The cost will be approximately $65,400.
