The Strathmore Spartans peewee team was in action against the Sylvan Lake Bears and again was able to come out with a win on Oct. 22.  Cooper Fargey scored one touchdown in the first half and had another long run in the second half that also went for a touchdown. The team has been working hard in practice and it’s really paying off, as they have a record of 5-1. This was the second shutout of the season for the Strathmore defense, which is becoming a very good compliment to their explosive offence. The team is currently in second place and will host the league semi-final playoff game on Oct. 29 against the third place Red Deer Steelers. The Steelers have similar record as the Spartans, so this game promises to be a very close, very even match up. The only loss of the season for the peewees was in the first game against Innisfail. Head coach Doug Klauck has been focused on preparing for playing against them in the league championship game, (hosted by Innisfail), all season. With a win at home this week, the Strathmore pee wee team will likely face the Innisfail Cyclones for the league championship.
