After eight years working with, and promoting Rosebud, executive director Bob Davis has decided to resign from his role. Davis is taking on a new role in tourism development with the Canadian Badlands Limited.
“There was an opportunity to work on a wider regional basis, which interested me and I feel like a number of key challenges at Rosebud have been accomplished, most notably the Rosebud Mercantile,” said Davis.
“With those accomplishments now done I’m looking for some new challenges for myself and also to pass the torch to someone else at Rosebud to take Rosebud forward into its next chapter of development.”
Davis plans to continue with his role of executive director until the end of October. The Rosebud Centre of the Arts is still searching for a replacement.
“I’m hoping to continue much of the work that’s been gone on so far and to help communities initiate new projects or strategies to continue to make the Badlands a great place to visit,” said Davis about working with the Badlands.
One big accomplishment that stands out in Davis’ mind was when Rosebud celebrated the theatre’s 25 anniversary in 2008. He said the production of ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ that summer highlighted an entire year’s worth of celebration. Another thing that stands out for him is the development of a really great group of people. He said they have a really strong staff that has grown over the years.
He is proud and happy to say the staff is energetic and visionary and seems to have a collective will to make rosebud the best it can be .
“The people, definitely. Working with such a dedicated group, the passion and energy that the people have here for the art and education and service is second to none and I love that about Rosebud,” said Davis about what he will miss most.
“I think the future looks really bright for Rosebud and I look forward to continuing to work with them in my new role with the badlands.”
