Strathmore Storm Midget B

Strathmore Storm Midget B hockey team hosted a tournament in Rockyford Nov 18-20, 2011.  The weekend started off with a tie against Beiseker.  The team quickly showed they were a force to deal with, winning the next 3 round robin games to take second place.  Strathmore played in the semi finals against RMAA and won.  Only having a ten minute break before starting the finals, they fell behind 3-1 in the first period but with a no quit attitude, they were up 5-4 going into the third period.  In the third period, the boys got tired and Beiseker won the game 7-5.  The line of Carston, Michael, and Tyrell sure put up the numbers in scoring.  The line of Lane, Jordan, and Ryan were a force in the corners and getting key goals at key times.  Buddy, James, and Logan, as always, played with true heart and finesse.  Our defense, Rob, Robert, Sheridan, Logan, and Josh, played a key role in keeping shots on goal at a minimum and assisting in offensive plays.  Alexander showed outstanding goaltending this weekend keeping us in every game.  Head Coach Kevin Dyck and Assistant Coach Shawn Tourout could not be more proud of the performance that the team put in this weekend.  The kids kept their heads up after the loss and represented Strathmore very well.  This was a good stepping stone for the second half of the season.  With a record of 5-1 already; we see nothing but success in their future and having Mitch, Matthew, and Zack returning in the New Year from injuries will just strengthen our team even more.  The coaches and manager would like to thank the parents for their donations and all the time they put in to make this weekend a great success.  We would also like to thank all the businesses that donated gifts for the raffle table.
