The Royal Canadian Legion #10 Ladies Auxiliary presents their first ever Hair and Fashion Show that will take place at the Strathmore Legion, Sunday Nov. 6, beginning at 3 p.m. Hairstyling will be performed by the ladies from Sweeney Todd’s Ladies Salon and Ezze Wear fashions will be showcasing their winter collection. All models will be lady members from the Legion.
“Ezze Wear fashions is Canadian cotton and they call it easy wear because it’s casual wear, comfortable clothes, and they’re very good quality. A lot of the ladies and members of the Legion come down to Ezze Wear to shop, so the ladies of the Legion are the models, these are real ladies,” said Yvonne Horne, owner of Sweeney Todd’s Ladies Salon, member of the Legion and organizer of the event.
The desired goal for funds raised is anywhere between $500 and $1,000. Horne hopes for a successful event and anticipates close to 100 people to attend. So far, 80 tickets have been printed off and are being sold at $10 each.
“All the money that’s raised helps to pay for our veteran dinners we put on yearly and a lot of it goes into the veteran fund. So whenever a veteran needs a refrigerator or something like that, we help with those kinds of things,” said Horne.
Following the hair and fashion show will be a funny fashion show where the ladies will be dressing up their husbands and male members of the Legion as women.
“Just to make it a fun afternoon, we’re going to put wigs on them and funny outfits, it will be hilarious,” said Horne.
