The second annual Gleichen Community Garage Sale was held May 28-29. Thanks to Mother Nature for co-operating. A great turn out took advantage of several individual and group sales throughout the community. A big thank you for all those who set up tables and a bigger thanks to all those who came out and went home with great deals, see you next year!

With the recent transfer notice of Staff Sergeant Robert Golan from the local detachment, there will be a farewell party for Bob and his family June 11 at the Gleichen Community Centre. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., potluck dinner to follow.  Call Connie at 403-734-3493 for more details.

The annual Fall Fair is coming up fast, August 20. The Gleichen Community Development Council will be working with the Fall Fair committee this year organizing outdoor events. The annual Show and Shine will be held once again and we’re hoping to continue the demonstration events held last year, with some of the ideas including Jousting, Stock Dogs, Cutting Horses, Trick Riding and Heavy Horse Pull competition. Anyone wishing to help with the organization of these events, please call Ian Mast at 403-734-2526.

The next meeting of the Gleichen Community Development Council will be held June 13, 7p.m. at the Community Centre. All interested individuals and those community groups wishing to attend are more than welcome.
