On June 3-4, volunteers worked diligently to help put in a new playground at Calderon Acres Campground & R.V. Storage.
Calderon Acres is located about 15 km southwest of Strathmore, providing 320 sites on 80 acres of property, with a caring and safe environment for people of all ages, including young families and seniors alike.
“We really want to create a family-orientated atmosphere,” says Ted Kleysen, owner of Calderon Acres.
Volunteers and staff members worked hard this past weekend to put this equipment into place. Many were campers at Calderon Acres who volunteered their weekend time for the benefit of the entire campground.
Lafarge donated all the stone used for the playground.
“That was pretty amazing because it cut a lot of the cost for us,” says Kleysen.
Gator Trucking also helped haul all the stone to Calderon Acres for use in the playground.
Owners Ted and Katie Kleysen want to give a great deal of thanks to Lafarge for the stone donation, Gator Trucking for their transportations services, all the volunteers who gave up their time to help put the playground in place, and staff members Tony Velychko, Brit Martin, Wes Caldwell, Dallas Yingst, Bill Heath, and Lynn Benson for all their hard work.
