With winter sure to hit soon, the Wheatland County Public Works department will begin placing snow fencing around the county next week. They will also begin getting the graders and other equipment ready and have begun mixing the sand/salt mixture to alleviate icy roads.

A passing mark for safety
An external health and safety audit was done on the county. A passing mark is 80 and the county received an 87.2. The county also has it’s certificate of recognition for another five years, and must do an internal health and safety audit yearly.

Looking for a home
The Village of Standard is looking for a site for their rural fire hall. They did find a piece of property they are interested in, which is owned by the county and currently has a county shop on it.
Council has no objections to them using the site, but said it is up to the villages municipal staff to accept the proposal.
