Halloween is coming early to the Cheadle Lions Corn Maze. Kids of all ages are invited to head to the maze dressed in their best spooky costume to take part in the Halloween costume night Oct. 8. The kid’s event for the younger children will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. with costume judging at 5:30 p.m.
“It’s just for the little kids earlier so they can be in their costumes and run through the corn if they want. It’s open to everybody after that,” said Kevin Gibbons, with the Cheadle Lions.
The after-dark event for the kids of all ages will begin at 6 p.m. with judging at 7:30 p.m. There will be prizes for the best costume for kid’ nine years old and under, and another for kids 10 and up.
“The corn maze has been a great success thanks to the residents of Strathmore and area.  We have seen two local schools come out and experience the fun of the maze.  For a lot of kids I think it’s the first time they have been to a farm to see where their food is grown,” said Gibbons.
“It’s great to see little kids full of excitement run into the maze with their parents and grandparents.”
An adult must accompany all children attending the events. The maze will close at 10 p.m.
