Hold onto your brain, zombies hit the streets in Rosebud on May 2.
The short movie was shot in 10 minutes of film with one scene lasting for eight minutes of the script. Giovanni Mocibob is the director and had written the script two years ago when he had been in Rosebud to perform in a show.
“I got cast in this screen show here in Rosebud and I thought this would still be a fun script to do,” said Mocibob.
The main actors began rehearsing their scenes three weeks ago, and on Sunday all of the zombies were added into the rehearsal.
The movie follows two roommates who go searching for Karl’s fiancé after waking up to find their other roommate is a zombie. The main actors used their real names in the film to help the rehearsals go smoother.
Karl Sine is a professional theatre actor/director, and he is cast in the role of trying to find his fiancé.
“Because it’s an independent film and it’s such a small project it’s kind of neat being involved because I get to give a lot of input,” said Sine.
“What’s so exciting to me is to be able to work on it with Giovanni and the rest of the gang that’s doing it. It’s great when you get a chance to work with people you respect and that you believe are talented.”
Giovanni Mocibob is also playing in ‘We Won’t Pay’ which is showing at the Rosebud Theatre.
