Westmount Western Day
Shannon LeClair – Times Reporter
Westmount School had their annual Western Day on May 28. Due to the weather, students weren’t able to go outside for their breakfast so instead they were served in the school. LandMark Feeds donated the sausage and Sobeys donated everything else except the juice boxes, which the school bought. Parents volunteered their time to help serve breakfast.
Students and staff dressed up in their best western garb as a way to show and celebrate their western heritage.
The entertainment included the Wranglers, a group of line dancers from Calgary, the Piaha family, and the Keister family fiddlers. There was also supposed to be a western carnival, which had to be cancelled due to the weather.
