The Strathmore Venom Midget C team has fallen to fifth place after a tough 7-1 loss to the Okotoks Mustangs May 26.
With the loss, the Venom fell to 3-4 on the season.
“This was one of our worst games of the year, but all the kids had track and field so they were all exhausted before we even got to the game,” said coach Shawn Tourout. “They have had a good year though – they went from losing three in a row to winning three in a row.”
The Mustangs scored their first goal three and a half minutes into the game. A minute later the Mustangs scored another goal.
Strathmore’s Samantha Mackie was given the first penalty of the game, followed by Jaden Leonard with the second penalty.
Carston Tourout scored the first goal for Strathmore with seven minutes left on the clock in the first period. The Mustangs managed to score their third goal of the game right before the clock ran out for the first period.
The Mustangs continued to control of the ball, keeping it down in Venoms end zone. The Mustangs grabbed another quick goal, bringing the score to 4-1.
