C.C Humphreys is a well-known name when it comes to historical fiction writers.

Humphreys came to the Strathmore library on May 13, to do a videoconference and speak about himself and his work.

“My theory about writing is that I write what I am passionate about, and I put things into it that are going to make me get up in the morning and get in front of the blank screen,” said Humphreys.

“Some people think you have to be academic but I wasn’t, I was only interested in what I was interested in.”

Humphreys was born in Toronto but grew up in London, and all four of his grandparents and his dad were actors.

“I always loved history, and I loved English so I suppose it’s not a surprise I ended up an author of historical fiction.”

“It was very good, I got lots of good  ideas,” said Katie Kenig, a member of the Strathmore writers club.

“I found it fascinating,” said Ninette Maga an attendee.

Humphreys has written and published nine books to date and is currently working on his tenth, ‘The Hunt of the Unicorn’ which will be out next March. It will be the fourth book he has written for young adults.
