The Spartans girls volleyball team hosted a regular league game on Nov. 10. The team faced off against Strathcona Tweedsmuir for their first match where they lost 25-12 in the first game and 25-17 in the second. Strathcona played against Highwood for the second set of the night, beating them 25-16 and 25-18.
“We didn’t play well against Tweedsmuir but we played better against Highwood and managed to beat them in two which is good because they are ranked one above us,” said coach Lou Bleier.
The Spartans defeated Highwood 25-23 in the first game and 25-15 in the second.
The Spartans are not in fourth place in the league after the meet on the 10. The whole team is finally back from trips and other things which have affected their ability to make it to all of the games. On Saturday the 20 the girls and the JV boys will be in Okotoks taking part in zones.
On Nov. 17 the Spartan girls took part in the league playoffs at Strathcona Tweedsmuir. Results of the playoff were not available at press time.
