Reds lose two out of three

The Strathmore Reds faced off against Calgary’s Professional Baseball Force (PBF), Saturday in their first of three weekend games.
It was a close and hard fought game, but the Reds fell 5-4 to PBF.
“The boys did pretty good, just had a few mistakes base running, that kind of cost us in the end,” said Darwin Armitage.
“We didn’t capitalize on some situational hitting that we should have done.”
Despite the loss of their first game, Armitage was hoping the boys would shake it off for Sunday’s two games.
“We faced a pretty good pitcher today.”
Sunday they split a double header, winning the first game of the day 8-7 and losing the second 7-3.
“Everybody really stepped up to the plate there, had some good pitching, some timely hitting,” said Armitage.
“We faced one of their best pitchers, a guy that throws pretty hard. He’s a hard throwing left hander and we actually chased him out of the game so that was a real good sign.”
In the final game, the Reds made a few errors which cost them the game, but they will have a chance to beat Calgary again this weekend.
“Overall it was a pretty good weekend,” said Armitage.
“We are hoping to have another good go at the senior team next Saturday.”
