The first meeting of the new town council commenced Oct. 27 and there was a request from council to have family members present at the swearing in. The first meeting was an organizational meeting to take care of a few things, such as figuring out who will sit on which committee.
The deputy mayor is usually rotated every six months. For the first six months of this term, Councillor Bob Sobol will be the deputy mayor followed by Councillor John Rempel, which will bring them through to the next organizational meeting.
The meeting times will remain the same as they were the previous term: the first and third Wednesday of every month, beginning at 7:30 p.m. All of the members must be part of the Subdivision Committee and the Disaster Services Committee. Council unanimously accepted the list of who is to serve on which committee.
