Strathmore’s midget B lacrosse team, Venom played against the Calgary Axeman on May 12. The boys on the team are ages 15 to 16, and were headed for what looked like a tough loss.

The score was 2-0 at the beginning of the second period. The Axeman scored their third goal six minutes into the second period, followed within seconds by the first goal for the Venom. Then Axeman grabbed their fourth goal of the game. Venom fans seemed to be preparing for the loss.

With a score of 5-3 at the end of the second period, Calgary had suddenly lost the gap they had felt comfortable with. Strahmore made an epic comeback and managed to bring the score up. Venom won the game with a final score of 10-6 surely leaving the Axeman with their mouths hanging open at the defeat.

“That’s a huge comeback, it was great,” said coach Todd Betterton, “I’m really proud of them.” The midget B team is sitting at 2 wins and 3 losses for the season.
