Hope church spends weekend entertaining

The Hope Community church hosted a Tapestry of Arts night and a night of music this past weekend.  The Tapestry of Arts took place Saturday night and there was a variety of artwork displayed by members of the community and the church.

“It’s an opportunity for people to share the creative gifts they have been given and to open up what that means,” said pastor Kirsten Waldschmidt.

Her husband Steve helped set up for the performers who took the stage. There were skits, singing, and tap dancing. Performers were members of the church and the event was open to everyone in the community to come and enjoy. Sunday night the 50+ group put on a night of music. Artists were invited to perform and some of those who took part in Saturday night came to perform again for Sunday.

Chuck Bayley sang “He Turned Water Into Wine’, and violinists also preformed.

The event wasn’t as well attended as some of the previous ones but there were still approximately 60 people who showed, said Karen Bayley.

“I think it might be because we had the two events back to back, but we still had a really good time,” said Bayley.

“I think everybody really enjoyed it, and the performances were really good. There was lots of diversity which I think is a really good thing.”

The church plans to hold another night of music in the fall.
