For a good cause

A couple of local ladies are putting the clippers to their hair for a good cause.
Geraldine Grant and Val Heck are shaving their heads this weekend to help raise money for diabetes and cancer.
“We’re just doing it on our own,” said Heck. “I’m doing it for all my friends and family that had either diabetes or cancer. I’ve lost family to cancer and l have a lot of family members with diabetes. Next to cancer, diabetes has become the next killer.”
The head shaving will take place at Sobey’s on Aug. 14 at 3:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend and make a generous donation at the time.
