The Elite Hockey Development Camp will be taking place again this year. This will be the third year for the camp, which has been run by Doug Raycroft since Pro Ice discontinued their hockey school in Strathmore.
“This is its third year in Strathmore, we run spring camps and a one week camp in August at the family centre,” said Raycroft.
The spring camp start on June 15 and run every Tuesday and Thursday from 4 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., until the end of July. There are normally about 50 kids who sign up for the spring camp and about 100 to 125 for the weeklong camp in August. “It’s generally Atom and PeeWee players mostly and it’s usually anywhere from eight-years-old up to 13-year-olds. A couple of the older ones we let in and even a couple of the younger,” said Raycroft.
People can sign up for the camps right up until the day before they begin. The camp starting on June 15 is $335 plus GST and for the August session it is $350. The weeklong August camp is a full day camp and it goes from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
