Regulating Waterworks
Bylaw #10-09-Regulating Waterworks received Third Reading on June 2. Residents will be able to hand water their shrubs, plants, etc. anytime, but lawn watering will be restricted to three days a week.

“Since we’re using Calgary water, I think we should be on the same watering schedule, which is 7 days a week.,” said Councillor Mike Lloyd.

“In my opinion, we need to be conscious of water conservation,” said Councilor Earl Best. All members of council, apart from Councillor Lloyd, voted in favour of the Bylaw.

Bid Accepted
The caretaking tender bids for the Town facilities were presented to Council. The contract includes caretaking for the Civic Centre, the Family Centre, Town Hall, Kinsmen Park washrooms and other Town owned facilities, which are accessible to all members of the community. Councillor Lois Wegener requested an evaluation of the services to be conducted monthly, and a performance report to be submitted after six months.

“We need feedback from the people who are actually receiving these services,” said Wegener. Nine bids were received with three bids being close in cost. White Corner Professional Cleaning Incorporated was awarded the contract, based on the nature of the contract, which requires the successful bidder to be available at a moment’s notice for any unforeseen occurrences.
