Cemetery budget increased for Gleichen restoration

The Gleichen Cemetery Field of Honour is almost done. The cross and some of the headstones have been redone and the residents looking after the rejuvenation project were looking for help. Veteran’s affairs helped with a lot of the costs incurred, but the group needed help with landscape fabric and shale. County councillors agreed they needed to increase the funds available for the project from $150 to $1,000. Council unanimously agreed to increase the budget this year, and award Gleichen with $950, and next year council will relook at the cemetery budget.
