Bad weekend for Reds AA

The Bantam AA Reds were scheduled to play three games in a tournament hosted in Strathmore from July 10 to 11. The first game on Saturday the boys lost by default.
One of the players hadn’t shown up for the game and they had to take a loss. They were fortunate though when one of the other teams there offered a player for them to use so the boys could still play a game and get warmed up for the afternoon.
Unfortunately for the team, luck was against them and their second game of the day was called due to rain.
The only game the team was able to play was on Sunday morning. They were ahead at the top of the seventh and looked like they were going to win it, when suddenly things changed in the bottom of the seventh and the opponent took the lead.
“We got rained out the night game (Saturday), and played a good game in the morning (Sunday) but we lost in bottom of the seventh. Its like playing poker, sometimes you lose, sometimes you win, you play with the cards you’re dealt,” said coach Jim Crooks. “The kids played all right, we just had some bad luck.”
Luck which Crooks and his team are hoping to change at the Tier 5 provincials taking place July 17 to 18 near Edmonton.
