The Alberta High School Rodeo Association hosted their final two day rodeo in Strathmore over the long weekend.

There were seven Strathmore teens competing, doing things from bull riding to the barrels, to the poles. The weather wasn’t the best but it didn’t stop the kids from giving their all. More than 30 volunteers from the agricultural society, the rodeo committee and the community came out to help host the rodeo.

“Despite the cold, windy weather it was good,” said Myrna Johnson, whose children Dawson and Dusty competed.

There were 13 rodeos held for the season. In Strathmore there were10 events hosted each day, and 221 participants.

“We would like to thank our many volunteers and sponsors who make this rodeo possible.  We could not run this rodeo without them,” said Dowler.
