DeSMIT, Doreen

Doreen passed away suddenly on November 11, 2016 at the age of 80 years. She was born in Pincher Creek on March 6, 1936. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandma, sister, and aunt. She is survived by Bill, her loving husband of 53 years; four children, Sherry of Calgary, Billy of Ontario, Susan (Tony) Fulmek of Strathmore and Cindy (Stu) Carter of Sundre; eight grandsons; one granddaughter; five great grandsons; one great granddaughter; and two sisters Margaret and Shirley. Doreen was predeceased by her parents Fred and Alice Scott and sisters Jean, Betty, Dorothy and her brother Jim. Doreen was a member of the Strathmore Alliance Church. A celebration of life was held on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Wheatland Funeral Chapel, Strathmore at 2:00 p.m. The family would like to thank all the medical staff in Strathmore, (Dr. Sader) at the Peter Lougheed Centre and Foothills Hospital for all the care given to Mom.
